Group Lessons
Summit Athletic Club offer a large variety of swim classes. Which one is best for my family?
Because all swimmers are at different levels we offer different classes depending on the swimmers ability and age. Class sizes are kept very small to ensure that each student will have plenty of one-on-one time with their instructor.
Parent/Infant (P/I): (Ages 6 months-3 yrs). Child learns to be comfortable going under the water assisted by an adult and to be comfortable around other swimmers.
Level 1: (3-5 yrs) Child learns to go under water unassisted, to do basic swimming motions, and to float on their back unassisted.
Level 2: (5-6 yrs) Child learns to do basic swimming strokes for ten feet, and to float on their back unassisted for 10 seconds.
Level 3: (7-9 yrs) Child learns to do the front and back crawl with rhythmic breathing for 15 yds.
Level 4: (10-11 yrs) Swimmer learns to swim the front and back crawl for 50 yds with flip turns, and the breaststroke for 25 yds.
Level 5: (12-13 yrs) Swimmer learns to swim the front and back crawl for 50 yds with flip turn, and the breaststroke and butterfly for 25 yds.
Level 6: (13-14 yrs) Swimmer learns to swim the front and back crawl for 100 yds with flip turn, the breaststroke and butterfly for 50 yds., and to tread water for 10 min.
Lessons are held 2 days a week. All lessons last 35 minutes. Our Summer Schedule is shown below.
